There are some days when the joy in my life is so ominous that there's no chance to miss it. And then there are the other days when it takes some searching and digging to find the joy that's been there all along.

My New Year's Resolution
I never make them but this year I thought I would.
I'm going to make my goal weight by this time next year, at the very latest, which for me is 70 lbs away.
And just because I want to, and I've been inspired by another blogger...wish I could remember who so I could give her credit...but I'm going to post photos of myself starting with my beginning weight then a pic after every 10 lbs lost. These pics should be on the side starting in January.
Usually I'm not too fond of taking pictures of myself, especially when I weigh this much. But I know what it feels like to be 179 lbs (what I was right before I had to quit ww last time) and I know that I certainly don't feel like that now. I'm super motivated to get this weight off and keep it off (since we won't be having any more babies). I want to do a full-length picture each time. Because the weight watchers magazine likes the before and after pictures to be of the whole body and I think losing 70 lbs on weight watchers could warrant the publishers to want to feature me in their mag. That's my hope anyways. I think that'd be cool!
So check back here next month for my journey to healthy-ville. That's where I want to live.

CVS
My trip to CVS:
sports kit for our new Wii - it came with a tennis racket, steering wheel, golf club, controller handle, and baseball bat
revlon lip stick
nivea bath wash
crest mouthwash
loreal mascara
All for the low, low price of about $13. That's a savings of around $27, according to the receipts.
Yay me!!!

My cool trip...
to Albertsons was so much fun. Not necessarily the shopping part, although I did run into my older sister, that I haven't seen in 8 years. But that's a story for a different post.
I went to buy specific things on my list and I did terrific. I bought all this:
2 boxes of coco puffs
1 box of cheerios
1 box of cinnamon toast crunch
4 cans of veggies
1 can of biscuits
3 cans of soup
2 cans of evaporated milk
and 1 can of frosting
and only paid $16.67!!!
Plus I got a coupon for $5 off my next shopping trip.
So I saved a total amount of $22.88!
But the absolute best part was the guy behind me in line was watching the whole thing and finally asked,
How much did you save?
The cashier told him,
$17.88 plus she's getting back $5 off her next trip.
I smiled.
Then he asked,
Who taught you how to do that?
Save at home mommy.
What about save at home daddy?
I'm sure she'll teach you too!

Happy Birthday, Baby Nate
Our surprise baby was scheduled to be born on Monday, November 30 but the baby had other plans.
On Friday, November 27th I started going into labor. The contractions got 5 minutes apart around 6pm so I called my sister and asked her to come over to spend the night with the kids. Pascual and I got to the hospital about an hour later. Then I had the "joy" of labor contractions until about 11pm, at which time the anesthesiologist gave me a spinal and my doctor began the c-section.
Nathan Aaron Munoz was born at 11:35pm and weighed in at a hefty 10 pounds, 4 ounces with a length of 22 inches.
Happy birthday, big boy!!!
